Many of us have heard the phrase that someone is a “salt of the earth” kind of person. Not everyone knows that this comes straight from Jesus’ sermon he gave 2,000 years ago, where he tells his followers that they are salt, they are light, and they are a city, among other things. What did he mean, and what does it mean for us today as we seek the renewal of the world we live in?
