Middle School is the time when our children need to be grasping hold of faith for themselves, and not because their parents tell them it’s right. The Cove keeps the emphasis on serving, leadership and fun while deepening the concepts that the students are learning. Retreats and mission trips appropriate to this age group give students a new perspective on life.
COVE LAKE COUNTY MISSION TRIP
June 18-23, 2023
On this trip, the Cove students will serve their local community. Mornings we will serve with ReNew Communities in North Chicago. Afternoons, we’ll partner with different non-profits in Lake County. Evenings we will have fun activities and worship/teaching time in small groups at the Crossroads campus. The goal of this trip is to show our Cove students how God is working all around Lake County and teach them how they can be involved, all while experiencing fellowship with their leaders and peers.
COST: $300 which includes food, lodging, and transportation.
LODGING: We will sleep at Christ Church Crossroads in Grayslake.
REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. If a parent is helping a student register for the trip, be sure to create the account in the student’s name.
2. If the student attended a Christ Church mission trip in the past, use the same login they used
last time to access their account.
3. Any questions about signing up for the trip on the Go Method (formerly Focus Missions) app
can be directed to Jeanette Finlay (jfinlay@christchurchil.org).
FUNDRAISING
Students are encouraged to raise funds for their trips. We assist them with tools to do this.

Compass (8th Grade)
Compass meets approximately twice per month on Sunday nights and runs from September-May. During these times your child will grow in his/her faith in Jesus by learning from Christ Church leaders, elders and pastors; by meeting in small groups with dedicated adult leaders; and by having fun with new and old friends. We look forward to the privilege of investing this important time in your children!
Because your sons and daughters stand on the threshold of adulthood, Christ Church is excited to offer them a formal, relevant, and practical Biblical education to help prepare them for life beyond Middle School. Beginning in the Fall, Christ Church offers the COMPASS class, designed to help 8th graders take their faith in Jesus Christ to the next level in preparation for the rigors of high school. Students will learn the core tenets of the Christian faith while building relationships with other 8th grade students.
