Ghana

International Needs Ghana is an organization that walks alongside vulnerable women and children in the small, poverty-laden villages of Ghana in an effort to fight against the Trokosi practice, a cruel tradition which removes young girls from their families to serve as slaves to the village priest. By negotiating with the priests and pointing out the evils of slavery, International Needs Ghana has seen thousands of women and children set free. The organization has established churches in the region and runs a vocational training school for women as well as 10 Christian schools for children of those women.
