Facility Team Member: Lake Forest

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the overall cleanliness and readiness of church for ministy programs.  This includes janitorial activities, setting up furniture in support of the various church ministry events and other tasks as assigned by performing the essential duties and responsibilities as stated below.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs cleaning and sanitizing of all ministry areas assigned, including vacuuming, washing floors, bathrooms and wiping down horizontal surfaces
  • Sets up and takes down furniture in support of all ministry events/functions
  • Maintains grounds in a clean and orderly manner including setting sprinklers and maintaining watering equipment
  • Ensures safety of grounds during winter months, including snow removal and salting of sidewalks and emergency exits
  • Activates and deactivates building alarms as required
  • Maintains clean, safe and orderly work sites

 

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Attends all required training, in-service, and staff meetings
  • Strives to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices
  • Maintains a positive and professional demeanor towards co-workers, vendors, and guests
  • Adheres to all policies and procedures of Christ Church
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

ACCOUNTABILITY: 

  • All ministry event setups accurately and on time
  • Attention to detail when cleaning
  • Respectful interaction with all ministry heads and staff
  • Not wasteful of ministry supplies

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A High School Diploma or General Education Degree; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Some computer skills are preferred, especially using electronic mail software (Outlook) and other software when needed
  • Effective use of different hand and power tools
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions necessary in building maintenance and janitorial work
  • Knowledge of cleaning products and basic procedures for cleaning a commercial facility
