POSITION SUMMARY:
This team member will be responsible for providing leadership and operational support for the implementation of all Lighthouse programs and special events related to family ministry initiatives. To this end they will: 1) provide instrumental oversight of all programs related to children and their parents by effectively championing the ministry; 2) possess a missionary spirit of corporation and can-do spirit to reach the lost and grow their faith while working under the leadership of the Campus Pastor; 3) work in conjunction with the Lighthouse staff at Christ Church to ensure the overall mission and vision of the church is effectively implemented. This position may have some flexibility to work off-site if approved by their supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintain and enhance the Children’s spaces
• Provide limited supervision to others through motivation, direction, review, and feedback of assigned tasks
• Recruit, screen, and train volunteers and provide leadership, care and oversight to volunteers
• Oversee weekend services for Infants – 4th grade
• Edit Grade School curriculum and prepare all large group and small group materials
• Ensure safe and quality check in and check out process
• Serve in a shepherding role to families, specifically Grade School families (1st – 4th grade)
• Plan and oversee Lighthouse events and programs
• Oversee ordering of supplies and purchasing items pertaining to their ministry
• Ensures the Children’s attendance is communicated to the admin to report
• Oversee individual ministry budget
• Support mission, vision, and values of Christ Church
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Attends all required training, in-service, and staff meetings
• Maintains a positive and professional demeanor towards co-workers, vendors, and guests
• Adheres to all policies and procedures of Christ Church
• Performs other duties as assignedACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Build and develop quality teams for the location utilizing volunteers
QUALIFICATIONS:
• A background in Education (Early Childhood or Elementary) and/or previous volunteer experience in a church
• Effective communicator with congregants, staff and lay leadership
• Experience taking the initiative, solving problems, and leading others
• Strong organizational skills, computer skills and ability to work through and alongside others to accomplish goals
• This person should possess a passion for children and families
• A gift of leadership
