POSITION Summary:

To provide practical assistance to staff, ministry leaders and the congregation of Christ Church to enable them to perform their ministries.  To provide a warm and efficient office environment for staff, ministry leaders, volunteers and visitors from the congregation and community.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide administrative support to the Ministry leaders: includes all communications (phone messages, written letters and memos, sermons, teaching materials, etc.)
  • Maintain overall attendance numbers for the church and submit to the Operations Support Manager by 8:30 am on Monday mornings
  • Coordinate all travel arrangements including flights, car rentals, hotels, directions, itineraries, etc. for all ministry staff in accordance with church policies and vendors
  • Coordinate and manage all calendar appointments as needed
  • Reconcile and process Christ Church credit card summaries for the location, as needed
  • Work with pastoral staff to coordinate and plan future events
  • Submit calendar items for events through church database software
  • Maintain the security of confidential information
  • Provide administrative tasks such as answering phones, filing, copying, general office duties, etc.
  • Coordinate supplemental financial functions with the Finance Director as needed
  • Direct people to the proper resource – a ministry or an individual
  • Maintain Database of Church History including deaths, memberships, marriages, baptisms and dedications, ordinations and positions of pastor

 

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Attends all required training, in-service, and staff meetings
  • Maintains a positive and professional demeanor towards co-workers, vendors, and guests
  • Adheres to all policies and procedures of Christ Church
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • A High School Diploma or General Education Degree; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent communication skills and positive and welcoming demeanor
  • Competent in Microsoft office including Word, Excel, Publisher, and Outlook
  • Able to multi-task effectively
  • Must be detail oriented and self-motivated
  • Must be competent in working independently and also as a member of a team
  • Possess ability to support multiple staff members proactively

  • Understanding of Constitution and ByLaws of Christ Church
