MOPS Mentor

MOPS believes in the simple but revolutionary idea that remarkable things happen when moms come together, face to face. That’s why we rally women to come together in their own neighborhoods and help each other through this thing called motherhood, one gathering at a time.

Here at Christ Church we love MOPS! We have seen God use MOPS to enfold and refresh moms; give them supportive community, offer  prayer and encouragement, provide speakers to equip them for the daunting task of motherhood, to strengthen their marriages, support single moms, and have seen moms come to a saving faith in Jesus.  Our childcare team also is committed to sharing Jesus’ love with their kiddos in fun, safe, caring environment.  Because of a mom’s experience at MOPS we have discovered that MOPS has become a wide door for families to find a home at Christ Church.

This tangible love and support comes through people like you!

Would you consider the vital support role of being a Mentor Mom?

A Mentor is someone who walks a few steps ahead and brings perspective on mothering, womanhood and relationships. Through teaching and one-on-one relationships, you communicate with vulnerability and honesty, and provides a foundation for acceptance and trust.

You support mothers of young children, not because you have all the answers, but because you know that’s what Jesus would be doing.

A Mentor invests in moms and helps them step into God’s great plan for them. You may do this by:

  • Praying for each mom and Leader in the group.
  • Being present – never underestimate the power of presence. A Mentor has the unique honor of investing in the lives of moms and Leaders.
  • Ensuring, along with the rest of the Leadership Team, the focus is on creating an atmosphere where the love of Jesus is shared — through building relationships, meeting needs and conversations with moms in the group.
  • Getting involved in small group discussion. This includes listening well for ways to support and pray, allowing open conversation and creating personal relationship

Thank you for your interest in serving in this important outreach ministry!
