POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Counseling serves all Christ Church locations by leading, developing, and administering a counseling ministry to assist the campus pastors in caring for the congregation. The primary focus of this part-time position is providing professional counseling, assessment and referrals for staff and the congregation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Work closely with campus pastors and other staff to identify and respond to counseling needs in the congregation

· Provide intake, assessment, and referral to congregants from all campuses

· Provide short-term and crisis counseling (approximately 2-4 sessions)

· Coordinate care with key ministries such as St. James, The Justice Center, CARS, HOGS

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Master’s degree in counseling, social work, pastoral care, or related field

· A licensed clinical professional counselor or social worker is preferred

· 4+ years’ experience in counseling-related field and/or care ministry

· Theologically sound, exhibiting spiritual maturity

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

· Adept in dealing with crisis situations

· Self-starter, organized and able to give direction to various teams

· Ability to work with Microsoft Word and Excel
