Legacy Giving

Giving more by giving more wisely

Jesus’ earliest followers gave generously, but rarely by cash or coin. Instead, they gave out of their own property. The wise men gave gold, incense and myrrh; an unnamed woman gave perfume; Joseph gave his own tomb; and they did it for at least three reasons.

Creative, personal giving pleases God while blessing the giver. Practical, need-based, giving stewards God-given resources.  And, what was true then is true today – giving out of their property allowed them to give more generously.

Legacy Giving
“Legacy giving” means more than writing a check. It requires some thoughtful planning that may involve discussions with your attorney or other tax or financial advisor.

At Christ Church, here are some legacy giving ideas to consider:
• IRA’s
• Stocks and Bonds
• Other Assets such as real estate, business interests, receivables, etc.
• Wills or Trusts
• Life Insurance Policies
